Monica Valdés

Monica Valdés is a seasoned public speaker, consultant, and educator with extensive experience in documentary film programming and education. Currently serving as the Department Chairperson for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Valdés has earned multiple teaching accolades and has developed innovative programs, including an International Film Festival for students. As a Florida News Literacy Ambassador, Valdés works to enhance educators' understanding of news literacy in South Florida. With a rich background as the Founder and Executive Director of the DocMiami International Film Festival and various roles in film festivals, Valdés has showcased cultural diversity and promoted leadership through film. Valdés holds a Master's degree in History and has been recognized in Marquis Who’s Who in America and other prestigious listings.
