Juan C. Mendieta

Juan C. Mendieta currently serves as the Assistant Director and Chief External Affairs Officer for the Department of Transportation and Public Works at Miami-Dade County, a position held since October 2022. Prior to this role, Juan C. Mendieta was the Director of Communications at Miami Dade College from July 2004 to October 2022 and held several communications leadership positions at Miami-Dade County from June 1998 to July 2004, including Director of the Communications Department and Director of Communications for the Office of the Mayor. Earlier in Juan C. Mendieta's career, experience included roles as a General Assignment Reporter at WSVN-TV 7News and as a News Anchor at Newsradio 610 WIOD, as well as reporter and anchor duties at 940 WINZ. Educational qualifications consist of a Master’s in Public Administration from Florida International University, a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism also from Florida International University, and an Associate in Arts in Business Administration from Miami Dade College. Juan C. Mendieta began academic pursuits at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School and is furthering education at Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo since 2005.
