Elizabeth Mullenix

Elizabeth Reitz Mullenix currently serves as Provost and Executive Vice President at Miami University, where a notable career spans from July 2006 to the present. Mullenix has held various roles, including Interim Dean of the College of Creative Arts and Chair and Professor of Theatre. Prior experience includes serving as Dean of the College of Creative Arts from July 2014 to February 2023, emphasizing advocacy for the arts, strategic planning, and fundraising. As a cultural historian and theatre studies scholar, research focuses on Civil War era performance and its reflection of political ideology, alongside teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in theatre history, theory, and dramatic literature. Mullenix holds a Ph.D. and Master of Arts in Theatre Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree in English and Theatre from the University of Vermont.
