Ian Rubín de la Borbolla is an experienced engineer who has worked in various industries since 1997. Ian started their career at Thomas & Betts as a Product Engineer, where they led multi-million-dollar IBPM connector product lines from concept/design to overall production. Ian then moved to MCI/Worldcom as a RF Design Engineer II, where they co-developed company-wide programs for wireless network testing. Ian then returned to Thomas & Betts as a Design Engineer in the Advanced Concepts Group and Construction Products Group (CPG). During this role, they generated innovative products through Research and Development (R&D) and was part of the Brainstorm Group, which explored disruptive technologies. In 2000, they co-founded The String10 Syndicate, where they were responsible for the benevolent engineering arm, STEAM development, and venture capitalist funding. In 2004, they joined Opera Memphis as a Chorus. In 2008, they began working at Medtronic Spine & Biologics as a Research and Development Engineer, where they led and managed DHFs encompassing the coordination of research, testing, quality, concurrent, legal, packaging, marketing, regulatory, and surgeons. In 2013, they joined ABB as a Senior Research & Development - Advanced Technologies Team, where they developed proposals and quantitative outlines for applying disruptive technology to cross-functional business units and managing team operations among directors/C-Level. Ian also developed a company-wide engineering training program for promoting research ideas and combining with marketing metrics for improving R&D workflows. The same year, they founded Mibio | Medical as the Founder and Chief Executive Biomedical Developer, where they drove major corporate decisions for medical device hardware and software systems, R&D, marketing, partnership strategy and P. O. C.

Ian Rubín de la Borbolla obtained a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Christian Brothers University between 1993 and 1997.
