Matt Kirby

Matt Kirby, PE MLE M.ASCE, is a distinguished civil engineer with extensive experience in transportation and rail projects. Currently serving as Director - Rail Public Projects & Programs and Rail & Transit Manager at Michael Baker International since November 2019, Matt oversees significant projects including the Transforming Rail in Virginia program as the Deputy Program Manager (Design) for CSX. Prior to this role, Matt worked at HNTB from May 2014 to October 2019 as a Transportation Project Engineer, managing a $400 million I-26 reconstruction project, and earlier at V3 Companies, leading design efforts for key infrastructure projects. Matt holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has held various engineering positions starting from internship roles at Motorola and 2IM Group LLC.
