Xiaohai Liu

Xiaohai Liu is a seasoned Project Manager and Senior Coastal Engineer at Michael Baker International, with a career spanning over two decades in the coastal engineering field. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Coastal Engineer at Dewberry, Coastal Engineer at DHI, and Water Resource and Coastal Engineer at Taylor Engineering. Liu's expertise encompasses the application of hydrodynamic and wave models using DHI MIKE software, development of numerical models and ecological models, as well as water quality modeling. A Ph.D. in Environmental Hydrodynamics was obtained from Florida State University, complemented by a double Bachelor's degree in Offshore Engineering and Computer Engineering from Dalian University of Technology. Early research contributions include enhancements to the EFDC code and development of hydrodynamic and sediment transport models for significant water bodies in Florida.
