Kathryn joins the foundation as a program officer in the Austin office working with the U.S. portfolio of projects. Kathryn has deep roots in the education field. She has dedicated her career to serving communities that have traditionally been marginalized. Her commitment has taken shape in several ways, from developing curricula for children with special needs to teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults at Foundation Communities. Prior to joining the foundation, she worked as associate director of programs at Breakthrough Central Texas. During her time there, Kathryn led a team of dedicated staff, led hiring for summer staff, and supported nearly 200 students annually on their path to college.
Kathryn holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership and learning from the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at George Washington University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish language and literature at Knox College.
