Jay Gurel has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Jay started their career in 1997 as an Assistant to the Executive in Charge of Production at Warner Brothers/Telepictures/ "The Jenny Jones Show," where they assisted with day-to-day operations and managed show props. In 1998, Jay worked as a Merchandise Manager / Photographer's Assistant at Comunigrafix, Inc., where they managed product and merchandise for client catalogs and assisted senior photographers with various tasks.

In 1999, Jay took on multiple roles, including being a Locations Assistant for Warner Brothers/TV Show "ER," where they assisted with scouting and booking locations for the show and coordinated crowd control. Jay also worked as a Producer / Cinematographer at Channel Infiniti, where they received awards for their creative work in the advertising industry. Additionally, Jay served as the Education Director at Chicago Filmmakers, where they developed programs and classes on a not-for-profit budget.

From 2001 to 2010, Jay held the position of Vice President / Account Director at J. Herman Sitrick Advertising, Inc. Jay was responsible for media planning, buying, and implementation, developing and maintaining client relationships, and overseeing the development of plans to meet client budgets and target audiences.

Since 2010, Jay has been working at Michael Walters Advertising as the Director of Account Services. In this role, they develop and defines client marketing strategies, oversees the direction and execution of business strategies, and provides strategic insight for advertising and marketing campaigns.

Jay Gurel pursued their education in a systematic manner, starting with their high school education at Wheeling High School from 1985 to 1989. Jay then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) at the University of Illinois Chicago for the period between 1989 and 1994. After that, Jay opted for a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago, which they completed in 1996. More recently, in the years 2015 and 2016, Jay attended Western Governors University to obtain a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Management, Strategy, Leadership, and Marketing.
