Ben Sharples

Partner at Michelmores

Ben Sharples is a Partner in the Agricultural team and also heads up the Natural Capital team which draws on expertise from across the firm. He is considered a Leading Individual in Agriculture and Estates by independent legal directory, the Legal 500 and also ranked in Band 1 by Chambers and Partners. He joined Michelmores in October 2012.

Ben is dual-qualified having practised as a land agent for five years before becoming a Solicitor. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) regularly lecturing to members of both organisations.

Ben advises on all contentious agricultural matters along with structuring and delivering natural capital projects.

Dispute resolution is a key part of Ben's practice and he is a member of the CAAV Panel of Arbitrators as well as acting as legal adviser to other arbitrators.

Ben is also a mediator accredited by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accepting appointments as a member of the CAAV Panel of Mediators.

Ben is a contributor to the 10th Edition of Scammell, Densham and Williams's Law of Agricultural Holdings. He also sits on the Property Committee of the CAAV.

Ben was awarded his Higher Rights (Civil Advocacy) Qualification in 2010.
