Molly Macek has a diverse background in education and research. Molly is currently the Director of Education Policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a role they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Doctoral Dissertation Adviser at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education from 2020 to 2023, where they provided guidance and support to doctoral students. Before their time at Johns Hopkins, Molly was the Head of Upper School at Maumee Valley Country Day School from 2019 to 2022. Molly also worked at Notre Dame Preparatory School, where they held various positions including Director of Upper Level STEAM Program, Upper Level Science Teacher, and Science Department Chair from 2005 to 2019. Molly began their career as a Lab Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University and then worked as a Microbiology Lab Technician at Gillette.
Molly Macek began their education in 1996 at Georgetown University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology. After completing their undergraduate studies in 2000, they enrolled at The Johns Hopkins University in 2002. Molly earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree with a specialization in Secondary Biology Education in 2005. Motivated to further expand their knowledge and expertise in the field of education, Molly pursued a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education from 2014 to 2017, focusing on 21st Century Education.
