Associate Director, Skills at Michigan Central

Myka Burley serves as the Associate Director of Skills at Michigan Central since May 2023. Previously, Myka was the Program Manager for Education and Employment at Rocket Community Fund, where responsibilities included leading digital inclusion community investments and contributing to a 25% increase in digitally included residents in Detroit. Myka's entrepreneurial experience includes ownership of The Genius Lab, focusing on educational workshops for children. Additional roles encompassed program coordination at TechTown, fundraising development at Christine Gavin & Co., and legal assistance at Romano Law PLLC and The Lobb Law Firm. Myka's career began in human resources and finance at Detroit Property Preservation and as a VIP Host at MGM Grand Detroit. Myka holds a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Michigan and is currently pursuing further education at the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law. Certifications in Project Management and Women's Entrepreneurship have also been earned from Spelman College and Cornell University, respectively.
