Ross Gavin

Ross Gavin is an experienced policy director specializing in urban land use and infrastructure, currently serving at the Michigan Environmental Council since May 2022. Prior to this role, Ross held the position of Deputy Treasurer for Legislative and Legal Affairs at the Oakland County Treasurer's Office from July 2013 to April 2022, where responsibilities included analyzing proposed legislation, advising on legal issues, and conducting stakeholder outreach. Ross also contributed as the Deputy Campaign Manager for Andy Meisner's campaign for Oakland County Treasurer, focusing on legal compliance and voter outreach strategies. Early career experience includes serving as a Legal Research Assistant at the Michigan House of Representatives. Ross holds a Doctor of Law degree from Wayne State University Law School, a Master's Degree in Political Science from Wayne State University Graduate School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Albion College.
