Michigan Municipal League
Richard Murphy has extensive experience in urban planning and transportation policy, currently serving as Program Manager at the Michigan Municipal League since April 2014. Richard holds roles as Planning Commissioner for the City of Ypsilanti and has been involved in various initiatives, including vice-chairing key subcommittees. Previously, Richard was Programs Director at Michigan Suburbs Alliance, where significant transportation advocacy initiatives were undertaken. Richard has also contributed to regional transit development as a board member of the Southeast Michigan Regional Transit Authority. With a strong educational background featuring a Master of Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, Richard's work emphasizes community engagement and transformative policy change.
