Shane Baum

Shane Baum is a Project Manager at Michigan Political Consulting since February 2024 and serves as a Government Beat Reporter for The Michigan Daily, where previous roles included Summer Government Editor and Staff Reporter. Additionally, Shane is a CommonGround Workshop Facilitator at IGR | University of Michigan and an Organizing Fellow for Blue Future + the Youth Progressive Action Catalyst. Prior experience includes working as a National Security Analyst for the Michigan Foreign Policy Council and participating in a Presidential Advance role at The White House. Shane's earlier positions included Outreach Coordinator and Democracy Summer Program Lead for Mike Levin for Congress, and a Fellowship with the DCCC. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish with a minor in Quantitative Methods at the University of Michigan, Shane's academic journey commenced in August 2023.
