The Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association (MRLA) is the recognized leader of Michigan's hospitality industry, providing essential services to its members. The Michigan Restaurant Association was originally founded in 1921 to serve, enhance and nurture the growth and development of Michigan's food service industry. In 2018, the MRA expanded its reach to become the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association to advance the entire hospitality industry. The restaurant and lodging industries play an integral role in Michigan’s economy, employing nearly 600,000 Michiganders and generating $40 billion in revenue statewide.
