Elizabeth Browne

Elizabeth Browne serves as the Director of the Materials Management Division at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy since February 2021, following their role as Assistant Director in the same division since July 2019. Elizabeth has extensive experience within the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, holding various positions including Special Project Administrator, Special Assistant to the Deputy Director, Chief of the Office of Waste Management and Radiological Protection, and Assistant Chief in the Resource Management Division. Additional roles include Chief of the Land and Water Management Division and Superfund Section Chief, along with a focus on waste management and environmental protection throughout their career. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Michigan State University.
