Kurt Baumgarten

Kurt Baumgarten currently serves as a Partner at GM Ventures since May 2022 and holds a position on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Venture Capital Association as of January 2024. With extensive legal expertise, Kurt serves as Vice President and General Counsel at Applied Licensing, LLC since October 2013, and has practiced as an Attorney in Michigan and Wisconsin since March 2013. Previously, Kurt was a member of the Board of Directors for the New Enterprise Forum from February 2021 to February 2023 and worked as a Founding Member and Group Lead at Pointe Angels until May 2022. Kurt also held positions as Counsel and Summer Associate at St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants, Inc. and interned for Justice Robert P. Young at the Michigan Supreme Court. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Michigan.
