Samanthi Waidyarachchi

Samanthi Waidyarachchi is an accomplished professional in the field of organic synthesis, currently serving as Group Leader, Principal Scientist, and Senior Scientist at Microbiotix, Inc. since July 2015. Prior experience includes a Research Associate position at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where significant contributions were made to the design and synthesis of Spectinomycin analogs for treating bacterial infections. Samanthi's academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Organic Synthesis from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Kelaniya, where earlier experience as an Assistant Lecturer was gained. Additional research at the University of Illinois involved developing innovative synthesis methods for complex natural products.
