Sarah Rankin

Micro:bit Champion Community Lead: Canada at Micro:bit Educational Foundation

Sarah Rankin has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and organizations. Sarah started their career in 2009 as a Teacher at ASD-S and continued in that role until 2023. During their tenure, they also worked as a Technology Coach at Anglophone School District - South from 2019 to 2023. Sarah then joined Microsoft in 2020 as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Master Trainer. In 2022, they became a micro:bit Champion Community Lead for Canada at the Micro:bit Educational Foundation. Currently, they are a Learning Specialist - Educational Technology at the New Brunswick Department of Education and Early Childhood Development since 2023. Additionally, Sarah served as the Festival Director at Fundy Fringe Festival from 2014 to 2021.

Sarah Rankin completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama/Theatre Arts and Stagecraft at Mount Allison University from 2003 to 2007. Sarah then obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Maine at Presque Isle from 2007 to 2008. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Educational Technology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, starting in 2021 and expected to finish in 2023. In addition to their degrees, Sarah has also obtained several certifications, including Fierce Conversations, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, SMART Lumio Certified Trainer, Microsoft Esports Leader, Adobe Creative Educator Level 2, and Microsoft Certified Educator.
