Namit Singh, Ph.D.

Namit Singh, Ph.D. has a wealth of work experience in the energy and engineering industries. Namit began their career in 2002 as a Research Assistant at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where they conducted research on pressure vessels and piping. In 2004, they took on an Intern Project Manager role at Akon, Inc., where they developed purchasing strategies and implemented a new Material Requirements Planning system. Later that year, they returned to The University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a Doctoral Candidate and Researcher, where they designed and modeled a fully functional prototype voltage reference standard Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Namit also conducted research on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and taught undergraduate students in instrumentation and measurement techniques. In 2011, they became a Mechanical Engineer at Akon, Inc., where they conducted process development for thick-film fabrication of circuits and components. In 2012, they founded OTW Engineering, LLC and developed engineering solutions for the renewable energy industry. In 2014, they became a Founding Partner and CTO of 4N EcoTech, a Boulder, CO based engineering consulting firm. In 2017, they founded NeoGRID Energy, where they are shaping the new electricity grid. Finally, in 2015, they became COO and CoFounder of Microgrid Labs Inc., where they are a microgrid and DER consultant.

Namit Singh, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Gujarat in 2001. Namit then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2012. Prior to this, they attended K. V. (S.A.C.) in 1997.
