Katelijne Bekers

Katelijne Bekers has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Katelijne co-founded and currently serves as the CEO of MicroHarvest since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant at Atlantic Food Labs from October 2020 to April 2021. From December 2019 to March 2021, they held the position of Business Development Manager Bionutrients at Ohly, and from February 2016 to December 2019, they worked as a Fermentation Application Specialist at the same company. Before that, they were an R&D Engineer at Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant from September 2014 to December 2015. Additionally, they have experience as a Fermentation scientist at Corbion from September 2013 to June 2014. Their work experience started with their role as a PhD student at TU Delft where they worked from 2009 to 2013.

Katelijne Bekers completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) in Biotechnology from Wageningen University & Research. Katelijne pursued this degree from 2002 to 2009. Later, in 2018 and 2019, they attended the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, where they obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration.
