Andrew Jacobs has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Andrew is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at MicroHealth since 2023. In their previous role at the Defense Health Agency from 2008, they held the position of Chief, Strategy & Planning for Innovations & Advanced Technology Development. During this time, they provided executive leadership and technical direction for agency-wide technology policy and program operations. Andrew managed strategic technology development projects, oversaw domestic and international technology and infrastructure, and managed multiple global technology-deployment projects.
Prior to that, Andrew served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda from 2018 to 2023. In this role, they advised, planned, managed, and coordinated information management/information technology activities. Andrew provided advice to the MTF Commander on information resource management, IRM strategy, policy, governance, and information assurance matters.
Before joining Walter Reed, Andrew worked as a Sr. Network Engineer at NetStar1 from 2007 to 2008, where they enhanced systems and improved availability, capacity, and continuity. Andrew also evaluated and tested new technology for insertion into the MHS infrastructure. Prior to that, they served as an Infrastructure Manager at L3 Communications Government Services Inc. from 2005 to 2007. In this role, they established and managed product life cycle management for all telecommunications infrastructure and improved infrastructure security and accessibility.
From 2002 to 2005, Andrew held the role of WITS corporate leader and billable asset at World Information Technology Solutions LLC (WITS). Andrew led multiple teams of systems engineers on various infrastructure and security projects, incorporating new technology for the NRC and increasing system availability.
Overall, Andrew has extensive experience in technology leadership, strategic planning, project management, and infrastructure development in both public and private sector organizations.
