Sonny Laskar

Sonny Laskar has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Sonny started their career at Tata Consultancy Services in 2007, where they worked as an Assistant Consultant. During their time there, they played a significant role in overseeing the creation of a seamless end-to-end infrastructure for State Bank of India's data warehouse project. Sonny was responsible for developing ETL applications and Business Intelligence reporting using IBM Cognos and implementing Single Sign-On through IBM TDS. Sonny also managed distributed systems operating on multiple platforms and ensured adherence to service level agreements across two data centers.

In 2014, Sonny joined Microland Limited as a Sr Principal Architect - Automation & Analytics. Sonny held this position until 2018, after which they were promoted to Associate Director until June 2019. Sonny then assumed the role of Director - Principal Data Scientist, where they currently oversee strategic data science initiatives for the company.

Throughout their career, Sonny has demonstrated expertise in data science, infrastructure architecture, ETL development, and Business Intelligence reporting.

Sonny Laskar completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore in 2014. In the same year, they pursued Advanced Business Analytics at the Texas McCombs School of Business. Earlier, Sonny obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from IIEST, Shibpur in 2007. Additionally, they hold several certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in 2017, MongoDB for DBAs from MongoDB, Inc. in 2016, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals: Virtual Machines from Microsoft in 2016, and a Certificate in Cloud Computing from Tata Consultancy Services in 2014. Sonny also acquired certifications from IBM, including IBM Certified System Administrator AIX 6.1, IBM Certified System Administrator DB2 9 LUW, IBM Certified System Administrator Websphere Application Server ND 7.0, and IBM Certified System Administrator Websphere MQ V7.0.
