Koen De Backer currently serves as Corporate Vice President of Smart Manufacturing & Artificial Intelligence at Micron Technology, where leadership in Industry 4.0 transformation spans operations, procurement, supply chain, quality, IT, R&D, and business functions since June 2019. Prior to this role, Koen was a Partner at McKinsey & Company from September 2012 to May 2019, co-leading the manufacturing service line in South-East Asia, with a focus on large-scale operations transformations in advanced industries. Koen holds a Master in Electro-mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven (1999-2004) and a Master in Industrial Management with a specialization in Operations and Supply Chain Management from KU Leuven (2004-2005) and INSEAD (2011-2012).
