Soumya Mandal

Soumya Mandal, PhD, currently serves as an R&D Films Equipment Development Engineer at Micron Technology since March 2024. With a comprehensive background in mechanical engineering, Soumya has gained extensive experience through previous roles as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University from January 2018 to December 2023, focusing on pulsed laser deposition of thin films and additive manufacturing. Soumya's notable projects include optimizing thin film deposition parameters, analyzing the fabrication of NiCoCr nanoparticles, and enhancing impact properties of stainless steel through advanced methodologies. Additional experience includes a Synchrotron Beamline Internship at Argonne National Laboratory and a brief tenure at Micron Technology focused on in-process analytics. Education includes a PhD and an MS from Oklahoma State University, and a BS from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology.
