Arjan Smit

Arjan Smit has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Arjan is currently the Head of Production Process Engineering and Maintenance at Micronit, a position they started in June 2022. Prior to that, Arjan held various roles at VDL Enabling Technologies Group (ETG) from 2011 to 2022, including Manager CAD/CAM Engineering, Shopfloor Manager Parts Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Engineer/Project Lead. Before joining VDL ETG, Arjan worked at RM Precision as a Team Leader/Process Engineer, responsible for innovating the 5-axis machining group and leading the CNC milling/Quality team. Arjan also worked as a Trainer/Teacher (part-time) at STODT and served as the Plant Manager at Cylpro Auburn AL. Earlier in their career, Arjan gained experience as the Dutch Champion CNC Milling and competed in the Worldskills competition in Shizuoka, Japan, achieving a ranking of Nr. 8 worldwide at Norma Ultra Precise Systems.

Arjan Smit completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 2005 to 2009. Later, from 2015 to 2017, they attended TSM Business School and obtained a Post HBO/Fase 1 Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, with a focus on General business and management. Additionally, in the same year 2015, Arjan Smit completed a Premaster program at TSM Business School in the field of Business and Science.
