Amy Dunbar Plante is a dedicated educator and business professional with extensive experience in physical education, human resources, and business relations. Currently serving as a Physical Education Teacher at MicroSociety Academy Charter School since February 2023, Amy has previously co-owned Athlete's Competitive Edge and held the dual role of Director of Business Relations & Human Resources at both 2nd Nature Academy Private Elementary Middle High School and The Nature of Things from 2005 to 2023. Amy also contributed to the fitness industry as a Trainer at Pure Life Fitness from 2012 to July 2021 and showcased coaching expertise as a Volleyball Coach at Hollis Brookline Middle School from 1999 to 2018. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Human Behavior/School Counseling from Capella University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Westfield State University.

MicroSociety Academy Charter School
The MicroSociety Academy Charter School (MACS) founders strongly believe that a K-8 MicroSociety School will better prepare our children for college, post high school education, and the 21st Century workplace. The curriculum will meet all state and local standards using innovative, engaging, research-based, technology-infused instructional strategies that have proven successful throughout the US and the world. Students in our MicroSociety Academy will receive standards-based instruction that is enhanced with “real world” concepts and will be given the opportunity during a daily MicroSociety period to apply their learning by reporting to their job and working in their own MicroSociety. Students will actively participate in creating and operating their own small society with guidance of teacher facilitators. MicroSociety will have its own currency, bank, newspaper, a marketplace with student-made goods, a government with a legislature, a court system with lawyers, judges, “Peacekeepers” and more!
