Carl Quillen

Principal Applied Scientist

Carl Quillen is a Principal Applied Scientist at Microsoft, specializing in Automatic Speech Recognition systems and innovative Speech Synthesis methods. With a PhD in Applied Math from Brown University, Carl has extensive experience in audio-visual analysis, statistical modeling, and data analytics. Previously, Carl worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Member of Technical Staff, where they conducted original research in audio-visual synchronization and speech synthesis. They also held positions at BBN Technologies as a Senior Scientist, where they contributed to award-winning ASR speech competitions, and at Nuance Communications as a Principal Research Scientist.
