Daniela Massiceti

Daniela Massiceti is a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research in Sydney, where they focus on multimodal machine learning, particularly in the intersection of image and text. With over a decade of experience, Daniela has led research projects that resulted in significant features in Microsoft PowerPoint and Seeing AI, filed three patents, and won Microsoft's global hackathon. They hold a PhD in computer vision from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Neuroscience with Distinction, and a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Cape Town. Previously, Daniela contributed to research in various roles, including at OXSIGHT Limited and as a post-doctoral researcher at Microsoft Research in Cambridge. They are passionate about diversity and inclusion in machine learning, actively contributing to the Deep Learning Indaba.
