Sarah Alamdari

Sarah Alamdari is a Senior Applied Scientist at Microsoft Research, where they work on the BioML team, focusing on generative deep learning approaches to protein design problems. They earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Data Science from the University of Washington in 2021, and their doctoral research utilized computational models and machine learning to explore thermodynamic forces in biological systems. Prior to their current role, Sarah held positions as a Data Scientist at Microsoft and a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Washington. They are passionate about promoting equitable access and representation in the computational research field, particularly for underserved students.
