Rebekkah Smith Aldrich is an accomplished library professional serving as the Executive Director of the Mid-Hudson Library System since January 1998, where also holds the title of Coordinator for Library Sustainability. In addition to this role, Aldrich has been an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University since 2018 and operates Sustainable Libraries, LLC, a consulting firm focused on promoting sustainable practices within public libraries, since January 2010. As a Sustainability Columnist for Library Journal since May 2016, Aldrich contributes expert opinions and insights to the field. Previously, Aldrich taught at the New York Library Association's Leadership & Management Academy from June 2013 to December 2019. Educational qualifications include an Advanced Certificate in Public Library Administration from LIU Post, a NaSBA sustainable building credential, an MLS in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University, and a B.A. in Women's Studies and Criminal Justice from the University at Albany.
