In 2016, four local land trusts and conservation organizations merged to become Midcoast Conservancy. In January of 2019, we welcomed a whole new group to the family: Medomak Valley Land Trust. Together, our five founding organizations have become one of the largest regional conservation organizations in Maine, with over 13,000 acres of land conserved.

The Watershed Management Team at Midcoast Conservancy focuses on preserving and improving the health of regional watersheds, including the Medomak River, Sheepscot River, and Damariscotta Lake. This team of specialized managers develops and implements conservation strategies, conducts water quality monitoring, engages with local communities, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure sustainable watershed ecosystems.
