Ghiya El Assaad

Ghiya El Assaad has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Ghiya currently works as a Digital Metadata Content Writer at MBC GROUP since October 2021. Prior to that, they were a USAID Funded Higher Education Scholarship Academic & Internship Facilitator at Lebanese American University from February 2021 to October 2021.

In 2020, Ghiya worked as an Intern at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from August 2020 to February 2021.

From 2017 to 2020, Ghiya held multiple roles. Ghiya was a Trainer at GC LAU Model United Nations, where they trained delegates from schools around Lebanon on the United Nations, debate skills, and rules of procedure. Additionally, they served as a Brand Ambassador for Careem from May 2017 to August 2020.

In 2019, Ghiya worked as an Outreach Officer at IECD - Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement for a few months from June to September.

Ghiya also had a role as a Volunteer Coordinator at No Label NGO from December 2017 to August 2019. In this position, Ghiya allocated tasks to volunteers, supervised their work, and managed the volunteer team to contribute to bullying prevention efforts.

In 2018, Ghiya held two positions. Ghiya was an Assistant Director for Training and Educational Development at LAU Model Arab League from September 2018 to June 2019. Ghiya also worked as a Director for the Global Classrooms International Model United Nations, where they oversaw UNHCR committees and facilitated discussions on refugee rights and responsibilities.

In 2017, Ghiya worked as an Entertainment Manager at Ahla Fawda NGO. Ghiya'sresponsibilities included planning, coordinating, and executing an entertainment program for a festival in Aley that featured various artists from around the world.

Ghiya El Assaad has a strong educational background in the field of social sciences. Ghiya completed their Lebanese Baccalaureate in Sociology and Economics from Beirut Baptist School in 2017. Following that, from 2017 to 2020, they pursued their undergraduate studies in Political Science and International Affairs at Lebanese American University. Ghiya is currently enrolled at Lebanese American University, where they are expected to complete their Master of Arts degree in International Relations from 2021 to 2023.
