Andrew Makinson P.e.

Andrew Makinson, P.E. has extensive work experience in the field of structural engineering. Andrew started their career as an AutoCAD Draftsman at Stoeppelwerth & Associates Inc. in 2001. Andrew then worked as a Field Technician at Alt & Witzig Engineering, where they performed on-site quality control and various inspections. In 2005, Andrew joined McComas Engineering as a Project Engineer, assisting project managers on large projects and performing construction administration duties.

In 2009, Andrew worked as a Design Engineer at Carl Walker before moving on to Frost Engineering as a Structural Engineer. At Frost Engineering, they managed projects, created construction drawings, and coordinated work with other engineers and draftsman.

From 2012 to 2016, Andrew served as a Senior Structural Design Engineer at Precision Surveillance Corporation (PSC), where they managed projects, created calculation packages and drawings, and supervised an engineering team.

In 2016, Andrew joined Shive-Hattery as a Structural Engineer, acting as a seller-doer and cultivating relationships with clients. Andrew played a crucial role in successful projects and served as a client representative and project manager on multiple small and large projects.

Currently, Andrew is working at Middough Inc. as a Sr. Structural Engineer since December 2019. Andrew manages the structural aspects of industrial and infrastructure projects, both in the Portage, IN office and in support of the Chicago office.

Throughout their career, Andrew has utilized various software and tools such as RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, Inventor, SharePoint, RAM Structural System, and Revit.

Andrew Makinson, P.E. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis from Purdue University in the years 2000 to 2004. Andrew is also a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in both the State of Indiana and the State of Kansas.
