Joseph Ferreira

Joseph Ferreira has over 20 years of work experience in engineering. In 2020, they began working as a Mechanical Engineer II at Mide Technology Corporation. From 2011 to 2020, they worked at SL INDUSTRIES - Montevideo Technology Inc. as a Senior Design Engineer and a Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, they created new electric motors to match customer requirements, led engineering efforts to create new create procedures for new product development, and conducted root cause analysis on failed motors. From 2004 to 2011, they worked at Busek Co. Inc. as a Design Engineer, where they designed and drafted parts, fixtures and assemblies needed to construct prototype spacecraft thrusters, setup and ran experiments to measure droplet size using LabVIEW, and performed FEA on thruster designs. From 1999 to 2004, they worked at Mechanology, LLC as an Engineer, where they created SolidWorks models for the complicated meshing surfaces of prototype Toroidal Intersecting Vane Machine (TIVM), drafted formal drawings for existing TIVM parts, and designed and drafted the manifold to conduct air to and from the each of the rotors' chambers.

Joseph Ferreira completed a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
