Wei Xi is an accomplished robotics expert with extensive experience in humanoid robotics and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as the Director of the Humanoid Robotics Center at Midea Group since May 2020, Wei has directed the development of advanced humanoid robots and established a comprehensive portfolio of products. Prior to this role, Wei was the Director of the Intelligent Technologies and Applications Institute at Midea Group, focusing on AI-driven mobile robot localization and navigation technologies. Before joining Midea Group, Wei served as the Senior Tech Lead for JD.COM’s IntraLogistics Robotics Team, leading the development of automation technology for ground delivery vehicles and warehouse systems. Wei's foundational experience includes a role as a Technologist at Western Digital, where responsibilities included optimizing HDD position accuracy and developing servo systems, as well as academic research at the University of Maryland on motion planning for autonomous robots. Wei holds a Ph.D. in Robotics from the University of Maryland, along with a Master's in System Engineering and a Bachelor's in Mechanics from Tsinghua University.
