Jennifer Kanyo has a diverse work experience in the field of education and museums. Jennifer began their career as an Intern in the Education Department at the Museum of Arts and Design in 2012. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Tutor for America Reads*America Counts. In 2013, they became a Substitute Teacher at Cranbrook Educational Community and also started working at the Michigan Science Center as an Educator. Jennifer later took on roles such as Co-Lead Summer Camps and Lead Educator, and eventually became the STEM Resource Coordinator. In 2016, they joined the International Museum of Art & Science as the Director of Education until 2018. Jennifer then joined the Midland Center for the Arts, initially as the Director of Education and later as the Senior Director of Museums and Education.
Jennifer Kanyo received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Art History, Criticism and Conservation, with a minor in Cultural Studies, from Pratt Institute in 2011. Jennifer then went on to pursue their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Art History at The Institute of Fine Arts, NYU, from 2011 to 2013.
