Lydia Watson

Lydia was appointed to her current position effective December 1, 2022. While serving with MyMichigan Health, Dr. Watson’s career has included roles as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer for MyMichigan Health, as well as Chief of Staff, Vice President of Medical Affairs, and board member of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.

Lydia has been a member of MyMichigan’s medical staff since 1996. She received her Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology from Saginaw Cooperatives Hospitals, Saginaw. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Michigan State Medical Society and Midland County Medical Society. Lydia is active in her community and currently serves on the Strosacker Family Foundation Board of Trustees. She is a member of the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance/THRIVE Safety Taskforce, Midland 100 Women’s Club, as well as serves as medical director for the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Program. She has also volunteered her leadership to the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women event and the Midland Public Schools Sex Advisory Council. Lydia holds a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) certificate in medical management.
