Midnight Sun Solar Rayce Car Team

Midnight Sun is a student-run team proudly representing the University of Waterloo on the international stage. Since 1988, we’ve been designing and building some of the coolest cars on the planet. We have just launched our crowdfunding campaign for our new car, MSXIV! Check it out here: https://igg.me/at/uw-midnight-sun-xiv-solar-car/x/24048656#/ After more than 30 years of building solar powered electric vehicles, our team is excited to announce our next vehicle, Midnight Sun XIV (MS XIV). Building a solar car from scratch requires constant review and iteration to ensure our end product profoundly rises up to the engineering challenge that solar car racing poses. Once completed, MS XIV will boast double the carrying capacity from our previous vehicle, improved efficiency, and a re-imagined user experience. With this project, we are striving to bridge the gap between solar cars and consumer-grade vehicles to demonstrate the potential of sustainable transportation. For the students that make up Midnight Sun, this team is far more than just your typical on-campus project. The project provides a unique, multi-disciplinary challenge that demands a level of technical understanding and talent that extends beyond the classroom. Our diverse roster of students are able to take with them lessons and experiences gained on this team to become the engineers of tomorrow. We invite you to join our team as we embark on our most exciting chapter yet.
