Michael Rhea

Michael Rhea is a seasoned geologist and business owner with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, currently serving as the Business Owner at Rockhound Resource since March 2022 and a Geologist II at Midstates Petroleum Company LLC since January 2014. At Midstates Petroleum, responsibilities include the development and oversight of the Anadarko acreage position, geosteering drilling operations, and analyzing geologic data to maximize efficiency in well planning and execution. Michael has successfully led the drilling and geosteering of over 130 wells across multiple basins and implemented innovative projects to enhance operational consistency. Previous roles include Senior Operations Geologist at Continental Resources and Geosteering Geologist at Cimarex Energy, where notable accomplishments include the development of company-wide methodologies for well path plotting. Michael Rhea holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geology from the University of Oklahoma.
