Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
Christopher Burgess LEED AP has over three decades of experience in architecture and building energy code compliance. Currently serving as Technical Manager for Codes Compliance at the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance since 2012, Christopher collaborates with diverse stakeholders to enhance energy code adherence across 13 Midwestern states. Previously, Christopher operated Burgess & Associates from 1988 to 2012, focusing on a variety of projects involving existing structures, including religious and corporate buildings, and sustainability initiatives. Between 2007 and 2009, Christopher held the position of Senior Project Architect at Jaeger Nickola Associates, where involvement included the Cardinal Meyer Center project in Chicago. Earlier in the career, Christopher was a Project Manager at Hasbrouck Peterson Architects, working on several historic restoration projects. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) is a collaborative network, promoting energy efficiency to optimize energy generation, reduce consumption, create jobs and decrease carbon emissions in all Midwest communities. Through partnerships, programs and a dynamic annual conference, MEEA seeks to realize an achievable pathway for all people and communities in the Midwest to receive the economic, environmental and societal benefits of energy efficiency and the larger clean energy economy.
