James Prehn, SJ, currently serves as Socius for the Midwest Jesuits since June 2023. Previously, James held the position of Vice President and Chief of Staff at Loyola University Chicago from August 2016 to July 2023, following a role as Vocation Director for the Jesuits from July 2012 to July 2014. James also contributed to the Chicago Detroit Province from 2009 to May 2012 as Assistant for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education, where responsibilities included consolidating three regional offices for Jesuit Secondary and Middle Schools. Prior experience includes serving as Dean of Student Development at John Carroll University from 2007 to 2009, overseeing residence life, campus ministry, and orientations, and as Principal at Walsh Jesuit High School from 2002 to 2007, focusing on faculty supervision and community engagement. James Prehn holds an EdD in School Administration from the University of San Francisco, an M.Div. from JSTB, a Master's degree in Philosophy from Fordham University, and a Bachelor's degree in History from Oakland University.
