Rainer Baumann

Rainer Baumann serves as the Group Chief Information and Operating Officer at Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund since September 2019, leading major initiatives across IT, technology, digital, and supply chain management, and overseeing a workforce of 6,000 employees. Significant achievements include driving transformation programs towards a cloud-based digital core and establishing partnerships with major technology firms such as Microsoft and Google. Additionally, Rainer holds various leadership roles across multiple organizations, including board positions at Migrol AG and Migros Verteilbetrieb AG. Previously, Rainer was the CIO & CDO at Swiss Re, where responsibilities encompassed group-wide digital services and advising the Group CEO. Rainer Baumann holds multiple degrees from ETH Zurich, along with advanced certifications in organizational leadership and information systems security.
