Dr. Sanket Pathak

Dr. Sanket Pathak has a diverse work experience in the field of language and NLP (Natural Language Processing). Dr. Sanket started their career in 2010 as a Summer Intern at IIIT Hyderabad, where they worked on Hindi Inflectional and Derivational Morphological Analyser.

From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Pathak worked as a Sr. Linguist at Expert Software Consultants Ltd. Dr. Sanket'sresponsibilities included working on Indian language to Indian language machine translation systems, Hindi morphological analysis, POS tagging, chunking, and word generation. Dr. Sanket also provided NLP and linguistic support for software integration and MT system testing.

At Expert Software Consultants Ltd, Dr. Pathak took on the role of Manager, Language Engineering from 2013 to 2017. In this position, they headed the overall language technology development and led a team of 20+ people. Dr. Sanket guided engineering, linguistic, NLP, and CL students, conducted training programs, and developed guidelines for various NLP projects. Dr. Sanket also contributed to improving existing NLP modules and led the development of novel solutions.

From 2016 to the present, Dr. Pathak has been working as an Independent Consultant in Machine Translation and Localization at eBhasha Setu Language Services. Since 2017, they have also been working as a Sr. Research Intern and NLP Consultant at the Indian Institute Of Technology(BHU), Varanasi. In this role, they have been engaged in R&D tasks related to NLP and MT for less resource languages such as Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi.

Since April 2019, Dr. Pathak has been working as the Language Manager, R&D at Mihup, where they continue to contribute their expertise in language and NLP.

Overall, Dr. Sanket Pathak has extensive experience in language engineering, machine translation, and NLP, with a focus on bridging the gap between linguistic knowledge and software development. Dr. Sanket has held various roles, including manager, consultant, intern, and linguist, and has made significant contributions to the field.

Dr. Sanket Pathak completed their education in Applied and Computational Linguistics. Dr. Sanket obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Lucknow from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics from Banaras Hindu University from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Sanket also holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Honours from the same university, which they received from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in various fields, including language teaching, translation, and morphological analysis, from several institutions such as the Central Institute of Indian Languages and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Furthermore, they completed a Diploma in Urdu Language from the Central Institute of Indian Languages in 2008. Dr. Sanket has also passed the UGC- NET exam administered by the University Grants Commission.
