Christopher Kitchens

Christopher Kitchens serves as Professor and Chair of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Villanova University since August 2022. Simultaneously, Christopher holds the position of Research and Development Director and Consultant at MiTek, where the focus is on establishing a manufacturing facility for magnesium oxide tile backer board and related product development. Prior to this, Christopher was a Professor at Clemson University from August 2006 to August 2022, leading research in advanced materials and sustainability education, while directing initiatives such as the Institute for Sustainability Education and NSF-funded programs supporting engineering transfer students and graduate trainees in resilient infrastructure. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Clemson University.
