Michael Running Wolf

Michael Running Wolf is a technology expert and advocate for Indigenous language preservation, currently serving as Co-Founder and Lead Architect of First Languages AI Reality at Mila, where innovative research aims to reverse Indigenous language loss in North America using machine learning. As a PhD student in Computer Science at McGill University, Michael builds on extensive experience as a Clinical Instructor at Northeastern University and a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, where contributions included significant projects with Alexa and big data workflows. Prior roles encompass leadership positions in language learning applications, software development for VR/AR initiatives, and database system enhancements, alongside a robust educational foundation with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Montana State University-Bozeman.
