Laura Orlando is an experienced litigator specializing in intellectual property law, particularly in multijurisdictional patent litigation and regulatory pharmaceutical law. Currently serving as the Italy Managing Partner and Global co-Head of IP at Herbert Smith Freehills since January 2018, Laura also holds the position of co-Head of Life Sciences for EMEA. In addition to these roles, Laura serves as the Executive Secretary of the Life Sciences Working Group at the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy and is a member of the IP and Antitrust Commission of the Milan Bar Council. Prior professional experience includes notable positions at Simmons & Simmons and Trevisan & Cuonzo. The Milan Bar Council is the professional membership body representing solicitors registered in the Milanese area. From career admission procedure to practice and decorum supervision, from training programs development to international relations, the Milan Bar Council performs a series of purposes aimed at representing the Milanese Attorney at institutional level.
