The Bilingual Education System developed at MILC employs a 50/50 teaching method, with half of the classes conducted in a foreign language and the other half in Russian. The Russian portion is more extensive and detailed, as it is the students' native language. However, it thematically mirrors and complements the English portion, enabling children to develop a comprehensive understanding of the world in both languages simultaneously. This approach is less stressful than full immersion in a foreign language environment, reducing the anxiety often associated with beginning foreign language studies. Consequently, students remain engaged and less fatigued during lessons.
The program balances high cognitive activity with rest, promoting the holistic development of a well-rounded personality. It has been observed that children learn languages not only in the classroom but also through exposure to other cultures. To facilitate this, an intercultural exchange program is organized. Students from the MILC Bilingual Kindergarten and MILC Bilingual Early Development School communicate effortlessly with their peers in English, gaining an appreciation for diverse cultures from a young age.
