Kornelis Blok

Kornelis Blok is a prominent figure in the field of energy systems analysis, currently serving as a Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft since January 2015, where involvement includes roles such as Chairman of the Delft Energy Initiative and participation in significant anniversary celebrations. Blok is also the Chair of the Science Based Targets initiative Technical Council and a member of the Netherlands Scientific Climate Council. Previously, contributions as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council at Milieu Centraal, and involvement in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as a Lead Author for multiple assessment reports underscore a substantial impact on climate science. Blok has held various academic positions at Universiteit Utrecht and founded Ecofys, where innovative energy research was pursued.
