VFX Supervisor at Milk VFX

Talented Art Director and VFX Supervisor, He Sun joined Milk in 2022, bringing with him 14 years combined experience in both the video game and film industries. Most recently, He Sun established a VFX division at Rebellion Film Studios of which he was Managing Director alongside his role as VFX Supervisor. During his time at Rebellion he focused on virtual production, CG game cinematic and VFX, delivering the award-winning Sniper Elite 5 and Evil Genius 2 cinematic trailers, commercials for NIO, HSBC and Lenovo, as well as a virtually produced short film, Percival and VFX for TV series The Fear Index (Sky TV).

He Sun started his career as a VFX Artist in the gaming industry, spending almost 3 years at Eurocom, followed by Jagex and eventually Rebellion, where he became Art Director on game franchises such as James Bond: GoldenEye, Dead Space, BattleZone VR and Sniper Elite.

Following on from his game experiences, He Sun moved into the world of VFX for Film and TV. During his time at MPC as Lead Environment TD, he worked on a number of high-profile projects including the 2019 remake of The Lion King (Walt Disney Studios), The Mandalorian (Lucasfilm), and Maleficent: The Mistress of Evil (Walt Disney Studios).

Hailing from China, He Sun studied a BA in Animation at Shandong University of Art and Design followed by an MSc in Digital Visual Effects at the University of Kent in the UK where he is also completing a research fellowship at the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (iCCi) and has been a guest lecturer. He Sun is also an Advisory Consultant for both non-for-profit organisation, ScreenSkills and global storytelling community, Future of Film.
